Sadly I've opted not to buy any more of the HL scanned books or Apocalypse issues until they resolve the lack of consistency and bookmarks issue. When they do, I hope they offer to upgrade the versions of existing customers. I have bought Classic Collection Vol 1-4, Personal Collection and Apocalypse Vols 1 & 2 already. Although I have all of HL's books (nearly) in book format, I still prefer pdf versions to carry around on my iPad mini.

When it comes to ebooks, I think that the first name that comes to mind is Lybrary, which is by faaaaar the best source for ebooks worldwide! I have made many, many purchases from Lybrary through the few last years and I can say that I am 100% satisfied as regards the quality of the books and the perfect service.

Yep, Chris and the folks at Lybrary.com are the way to go when it comes to this sorta stuff. As can be seen here, the proof is in the pudding to clearly see that anything less is, well, less than the best it can be.

I bought the Classic Collection vol.2, and it's an awesome book.
But please, ebook publishers, pay a little respect to the material. The pdf is complete and enjoyable, but the scans look like I have done them myself.
Also, please feed the result of your OCR software to any automatic spellchecker and have at least one person proof read it! The text export of the Pdf is full of non existent words, words cut in half at weird places, esoteric characters everywhere...
And about the name of the file : Loryane_The_Classic_Collection_2.pdf. Who is this Mr Loryane ?
I never had such experience with Lybrary.com. I would consider buying the rest of the Classic Collection if it gets the Lybrary.com treatment.
Still, bad publisher or not, thanks Mr Lorayne for your writings.
Cheers!

To address some of the comments:
*Our PDFs have always been and always will be fully searchable.
*All of our PDFs are high quality scans. We have never and will never release a PDF that is fuzzy or blurry.
We addressed Shayde Phoenix's concerns and worked hard to go through every single page of Close-Up Card Magic to update the PDF into a Text-Based PDF with interactive bookmarks. This book, like all books we offer, once updated all previous purchasers can download the newest version. We sent an email about this and explaining it to Mr. Phoenix but at this date he hasn't acknowledged our new version. Perhaps he didn't see the email a few weeks ago. Either way, now all Caf users know that we are actively updating PDFs and making as many as possible Text over Image so the text is crisp and the files are as small as possible. These will also include bookmarks.
Over the next weeks we will update all of Harry Lorayne's later books to the text over image or what we call Text based PDF format. These will always include bookmarks as well. Three have been done so far and the others will come out relatively soon. As mentioned above, all previous purchasers are always entitled to the latest versions as we improve them and can just re-download their file and it will be the latest version.
As of now we have updated the following Harry Lorayne books:
Classic Collection Volume 1 by Harry Lorayne
Personal Collection by Harry Lorayne
Close-Up Card Magic by Harry Lorayne
Thank you and enjoy the magic of Harry Lorayne!

I have always wanted to get a physical copy of Personal Collection but the price has been out of my reach. I've managed to get all of the Classic Collections along with most of Harry's other books but no luck yet on this one. Reading that Harry made his books available digitally I was jumping at the chance to purchase it but when reading reviews of the scanned versions I became hesitant. Seeing that CARC updated it, and the current 15% sale going on, I decided to go ahead and purchase Personal Collection.
I must say, the quality of the scan is
FANTASTIC
. Very, very clean looking. Both the text and hand drawn pictures. From the quality it seems to me that they started with a digital version and made the PDF instead of taking the scanned pages through OCR software, but I'm no expert on the process so I don't know. I just know that I'm a happy camper and it makes me feels good knowing that this book was treated with the respect and care it deserves.
Just wanted to provide an update because I know there was some concerns earlier in this thread. Hopefully CARC will continue to update the rest of his books (please start with the Classic Collections and the the Best of Friends series
). Now I just wish there was a way for those of us that already have these books in physical condition to get a really nice discount on the digital version
(doesn't hurt to dream does it). While dreaming might as well ask for the L&L Apocalypse versions to be available also, right?
Anyways, props to the Conjuring Arts team for listening to fan feedback and addressing the concerns.

Hi,
This is great news!
I am struggling though - how do I re-download one of the new files (I bought CCV3 a couple of months back)?
Thanks!

Sorry - I should clarify. I bought it via email address / order number as opposed to creating an account.
I can log into the order using the order confirmation number and email address, but when I click on the link to re-download it bombs me out...?
Not sure if It's just me, or if anyone else is experiencing the same issue..?

Hi Chris,
1. Go to our online store.
2. On the right hand side of the screen you have to option to register or login in. Login in with your email and password. That will take you to the "Account Menu".
3. Click on "View Previous Orders".
4. You will see a list of your previous orders. Find the one you are looking for in the list and click on "Order Details".
5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see "Downloadable Product(s) Information". It will show you the book's title and underneath is the download path. Simply click on the download path and download the file.
Hope this helps. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions, we are always here to help! Enjoy!

Hi,
I just downloaded the updated version of the Classic Collection vol. 2, and from what I can tell (I don't have access to a big screen right now) it looks *much* better!
Thanks for the new versions.
Cheers!
Sbastien.

I am extremely pleased with Best of Friends Volume III which I downloaded from Conjuring Arts. Text is pleasing to read, book is searchable. I can't click on a page number in the table of contents and go to the page, but can readily search for it.
I haven't finished it yet, but the book is a great read equal in quality to the first two volumes in the series. It has photos rather than line drawings (and they look like Harry posed for them himself). Harry analyzes many of the effects and has significant modifications and improvements, in his usual way, to many of them. It is amazing to me that Harry still writes with so much energy and insight yet he was 81 when the book was published in 2007.
I am certainly grateful that someone with the intelligence and experience that Harry has is still commenting here in the Caf, well into his 80s.

I have a lot of Harry's great physical books, and a few of the new digital versions - great for the convenience and the updates. Yes, the ones I have are high quality pdfs and searchable.
